CAN IODINE TINCTURE BURN SKIN?

I had a small cut at my arm with an infection. I left a piece of cotton with iodine tincture and wd it over 1hour .. it was burning and when i decided to take it out... my arm is all brown and yellow and the colour doesnt seems to get off from my skin. Will this remain n my sking forever? IM SO AFFRAID! :( If theres a way to remove it please let me know asap.
