Why does Diesel gasoline cost more per gallon than Premium gas?

This makes no sense at all other than it is just plain price gouging by the big oil corporations. Diesel does not have to be refined as much as premium gasoline, yet it costs more. This is driving up food prices and everything else. It is disgusting.
