How do I get past or heel from a friend of 7yrs that has committed the ultimate betrayal against me? ?

No she didn't sleep w/my man. WORSE! She used personal & private information, secrets I confided in her with, to hurt me and humiliate me to my family, other friends and my man. Honestly, I don't know why? I'm clueless about her actions. People never give anyone the power to hurt you with information or use it over your head. This has taught me a valuable life lesson. If you don't want someone to know something then don't give them power. My image and credibility w/ my family, friends and my man has been damaged by this. I don't even know how to answer all of their questions. Is clearing my personal matters up a good option? Should I ask them to respect my privacy and not answer their many questions? How can I begin to heel and repair my relationships?
