When are AF BDUs totally phased out?

I was in ROTC and issued BDUs and I went ahead and dropped $160 on the Gore-tex BDU parka as well. Now I'm in the Reserve and headed off to Basic soon where I'll be issued the new ABUs...my question is, can I go ahead and still wear my BDUs some days? I know they're phasing them out but I also know some people still wear them, and I was just wondering when they'll be entirely phased out and if whether or not I can wear them is up to the discretion of my unit commander (I'm a command post controller if the AFSC makes any difference).
